DAVID SOVA, AIA

David earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. He left Connecticut to work as product design consultant in Atlanta, Georgia. While he loved his work he wanted something more. One of his mentors suggested an MBA. He applied and was accepted into the University of Georgia, Graduate School of Business but after 5 quarters he realized it was not the right fit. He left Atlanta for the University in Washington school of Architecture in Seattle to pursue an ‘M-Arch’. While working his way through graduate school he was fortunate to work with a number of influential Seattle firms. The most notably The Retail Group (architects), Gruppe B (product design), David Hewitt (architects) and Clint Pherson (architects). After graduation he joined the corporate studio of the internationally renowned firm, NBBJ Design. Ultimately he worked with CallisonArchitects, Miller/Zell, Brand Forward Group and J2 Consulting. With each new opportunity he enhanced his experience and skills as a designer, project manager and consultant. Twenty five years later he can speak authoritatively about retail stores, multifamily apartments, condominiums, mixed-use commercial, high-rise towers, corporate interiors and single family homes. As managing principal he emphasizes a collaborative methodology, proactive processes and rigorous documents. He’s learned from experience that having difficult conversations early prevents disasters later.
